This research deals with the difference between the rule of the linguistic condition and other mental, legal and normal conditions. This difference is one of the fundamental differences that bear relation to the subjects of positivist judgment as viewed by Imam Al-Qarafi, may Allah have mercy on him, through his book Differences. This study also discusses the differences from the perspectives of terminology and Islamic Shari’a, in addition to drawing on the differences as defined by Imam Al-Qarafi and by others scholars. The researcher found out that there are seven differences between the linguistic condition and the other mental, legal and normal conditions. Besides, the results show that the linguistic condition depends on the existence of its own stipulation which validates it, unlike the mental condition and the other ones.
