Al Ain University Celebrates UAE Flag Day

Al Ain University celebrated UAE Flag Day at both its Al Ain and Abu Dhabi campuses, a day that embodies the spirit of loyalty and belonging to the nation and its wise leadership, and reflects unity and pride in the Emirati identity.

Prof. Ghaleb El Refae, President of the University, raised the UAE flag at the Al Ain campus. In contrast, Prof. Amer Qasem, Vice President of the University, raised it at the Abu Dhabi campus, in an atmosphere filled with pride and patriotism.

On this occasion, Sheikh Theyab bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Chairman of the University’s Board of Trustees, extended his warmest congratulations and blessings to His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE – may God protect him – and to Their Highnesses, the Rulers of the Emirates, and to the people of the UAE.

Sheikh Theyab bin Tahnoun affirmed that Flag Day symbolizes unity, belonging, and loyalty to the nation and its leadership, expressing the strong sense of solidarity that unites all Emiratis under one flag that represents glory, pride, and sovereignty.

He added that raising the flag on this day is a renewal of the pledge of loyalty to the Union’s journey and a reaffirmation of the values established by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may his soul rest in peace, whose legacy continues under the UAE’s leaders, who have made the nation’s progress and human dignity their top priority.

He said: “At Al Ain University, we take pride in celebrating this cherished national occasion that embodies the spirit of unity and giving, reaffirming our commitment to preparing a conscious generation that continues the journey of progress and excellence under the guidance of our wise leadership.”

Professor El Refae emphasized that Flag Day is an occasion where both the leadership and the people renew their commitment to continue the nation’s path of growth and prosperity under one flag that unites hearts in love for the homeland. He added that the University’s participation in such national events reinforces the values of citizenship and belonging among students.
