AAU raises slogan “No Drugs”

On the occasion of the International Day Against Drug Abuse and under the slogan “Our family is our future … No Drugs”, AAU participated in “World Drug Day” event, organized by Al Ain Police for three days in Al Ain Mall.

AAU (represented by Deanship of Students’ Affairs, College of Law and Students Recruitment Unit), sponsored the competitions by giving the gifts to the competitions’ winners, and by having a booth to show its academic programs and services. Moreover, the College of Law delivered lectures about the anti-drug law in UAE and the negative impact of the drug on the society and the safety of the country.

The event was opened by Colonel Mohammed Hamdan Al Manthari, Deputy Director of Police Stations, who emphasized on the great interest paid by Abu Dhabi Police to reduce addiction and the dangers of drugs abuse by organizing campaigns to raise the awareness among all segments of society, especially teenagers and youth. He also expressed his special thanks to AAU for its active participation.

Dr. Ibtehal Aburezeq, Dean of Student Affairs; said: "The University is always keen to participate in various events, and the aim of our participation in this event is to spread the awareness about the criminal and personal impacts of drugs abuse”.
